Specialized Freight
Oversize, heavy-haul, project cargo, and out-of-gauge moves — engineered route, permitted, escorted where required.
For project cargo and out-of-gauge freight we engineer the move — route survey, state-by-state permits, escort coordination, and yard handling on both ends. Industrial OEMs, construction project leads, and freight forwarders use this program when standard FTL doesn't apply.
Frequently Asked Questions
How quickly can Bob's Express pull a container off the port?
Most import pulls inside the Port of NY/NJ are scheduled inside one business day once the container is "available" in the terminal system. Tight last-free-day moves are scheduled same-day where the terminal appointment system allows. Call dispatch and you will get a real ETA.
Do you handle both Port Newark and Port Elizabeth?
Yes — both, plus PNCT, APM Terminals, and Maher Terminals. Bob's has been pulling out of the Port of NY/NJ for a century. Drivers are TWIC-credentialed; HAZMAT endorsement where required.
Are your drivers TWIC-credentialed and HAZMAT endorsed?
Yes. Every driver carrying containers in or out of the port carries a valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC). HAZMAT-route drivers carry the HAZMAT endorsement on their CDL.
What's the difference between drayage, LTL, and FTL?
Drayage is the short-haul move of a shipping container between the marine terminal and a nearby warehouse or rail. LTL ("less-than-truckload") shares a trailer with other shippers — you pay for the space your freight uses. FTL ("full truckload") is a dedicated trailer, point-to-point. Bob's Express runs all three.
Move freight with a carrier that picks up the phone.
Talk to the same family-run dispatch desk that's been doing this since 1923. No broker layers, no hand-offs you can't see.
